Perl

Perl has been quietly powering the internet since before most of today's frameworks had names. It built a lot of the web you used in the early 2000s, and it is still here. Maintained, modern, and genuinely good.

It never got the credit it deserved. The industry moved on, chasing newer things, and Perl got left behind in the conversation while continuing to run reliably in production at organisations that valued reliability over fashion. There is something almost admirable about that.

doIwatch.it is built with Perl, Mojolicious, and DBIx::Class. It has been a pleasure to work with. If you have written it off, it might be worth a second look.
