Privacy Policy

What we collect

Email address — used for account creation, login, and password reset only. Never shown publicly.
Username — public. Appears on your profile and ratings.
Ratings and comments — public on your profile page and visible to your followers.
Follow relationships — who you follow and who follows you is public.
Basic server logs — IP address and timestamp, retained for security and abuse prevention. Not linked to your account beyond what is necessary for investigation.

Trakt.tv — we use the Trakt API to fetch film and TV show metadata. When you search for a title, the search query is sent to Trakt. No personal data is included in these requests.
TMDb — we fetch poster images from The Movie Database API. No personal data is sent to TMDb.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the following rights:

Right to access and portability — download all your ratings at any time from Settings → Download ratings CSV.
Right to erasure — request deletion via the contact form or email privacy@doiwatch.it. We will permanently remove your account and all associated data within 24 hours.
Right to rectification — update your email address and password at any time from Settings.
Right to object — contact us at privacy@doiwatch.it with any concerns about how your data is processed.

We set one session cookie when you log in. It keeps you logged in and expires after 7 days (or 30 days if you tick "Remember me").
No third-party cookies are set by this site.
No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
When your account is deleted, your personal data (email, password hash, ratings, comments, follows) is removed immediately.
Server logs are rotated and deleted after 90 days.
